Raise your hand if you can answer "yes" to any of the following questions. Don't worry - we can't see you. It'll stay your little secret.

๐Ÿคš Have you heard a lot of misinformation lately?

๐Ÿคš Do you find that a lot of ethics are somehow bipartisan lately and you wonder when the line between ethics and politics got so murky?

๐Ÿคš Are you sick and tired of hearing one candidate portrayed as a villain and the other a knight in shining armor?

๐Ÿคš At times, do you just want to scream at people the very heart of an issue that they seem to be missing?

๐Ÿคš Other times, does it feel useless to even try?

๐Ÿคš At the end of the day, do you know that you've formed your opinion solidly in the Good Book and those who've chosen an opposing opinion are wrong?

๐Ÿคš Do you find it hard not to wonder if they've lost their way?

๐Ÿคš Does it make you really sad to answer "yes" to that last question?

I'll let my secret out. That's where I was the other night. I'd decided to call my Giant and ask him,

๐Ÿ“ž "How do you stay neutral? How do you portray neutrality? My faith is being used as an excuse for others to justify [insert your own outrage here]!" ๐Ÿ“ž

I realize that if I lose my cool and spew the zingers that my tongue is dying to release, then I am most certainly not representing my faith.

But.Sometimes.It's.So.HARD!!! ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

As I reached for the phone, I knew what I think Pastor Faith would've said:

I put the phone down in acceptance.

And in SUBMISSION.

๐Ÿ›‘ The greatest commandment is to love God, not to defend Him.

๐Ÿ›‘ The second greatest commandment is to love His children.

๐Ÿ›‘ Full Stop. ๐Ÿ›‘

1 Corinthians 13 told me that love doesn't spew zingers.

So I take a deep breath, nay - a deep prayer, and accept that God is my Defender, not reverse. God will answer for Himself in His time, as He sees fit.

As for me, I have a mission to shine His light, to be a Son-Beam for Him. So that is what I will do, and I will find peace in doing that through prayer. I will find new insights by keeping the channels of communication open (๐›๐ž๐œ๐š๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ž ๐ง๐จ ๐ฆ๐š๐ญ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ ๐ก๐จ๐ฐ ๐ซ๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ ๐ˆ ๐Ÿ๐ž๐ž๐ฅ, ๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ฒ๐จ๐ง๐ž ๐ก๐š๐ฌ ๐š๐ญ ๐ฅ๐ž๐š๐ฌ๐ญ ๐š ๐ ๐ซ๐š๐ข๐ง ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ญ๐ซ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก), and I will do more for my Father and for my faith by fostering relationships than by torching them.

Amen. ๐Ÿ™

How are we doing so far in the series, Son=Beam?
Any deep thoughts?
Any not-so-deep thoughts?
As always, I welcome your input!

Have a blessed day, Son-Beam. When the anger boils up, remember pray deep and reflect love.

Love,
Laurie
